Every Little Helps (Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus)

Every Little Helps (Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus) is a record on film of a London park drowning in waste. Discarded food, packaging and plastic bags are strewn across the green spaces of Finsbury Park on a summer’s day. Near-static close-up images of bottles, cans, cigarette packets and other waste give these an iconic stature, portraying them as holy relics of the religion of consumerism.

Set to a recording of Ave Maria by Les Petits Chanteurs de Montigny, the Latin words ‘Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus’ translate as ‘pray for us sinners’.

Every Little Helps (Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus) was selected for the Sustainability Art Prize exhibition at Cambridge School of Art, 11 April 2018.
